Situated on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountains, just outside Stellenbosch, Stellenzicht Wines came under new private ownership in 2017. The farm was rehabilitated and the natural fynbos was restored to the land.
The young and dynamic team, led by wine maker L’Re Hughes and viticulturist Nico Nortje, implemented regenerating farming practises and the dragon fly population began to flourish.
The dragon fly’s presence indicates a healthy eco system and so it naturally became the symbol of Stellenzicht Wine, and features on their label.
With the focus on Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Cinsault Chardonnay, the team set out on an aggressive replanting strategy.
Their wines are true expressions of their terroir, producing wines which appeal to both old school wine lovers and those who prefer the more New World style.

The Wine Pod
The eco-friendly Wine Pod is a true hidden gem, offering visitors an environmentally friendly wine tasting experience immersed in natural surroundings.
This unique tasting room with natural light streaming through its expansive windows is designed to bring nature into the structure, with fire side seating creating a cosy atmosphere in the colder weather.
With breath taking views of the Stellenbosch and Helderberg Mountains the tree shaded deck is a perfect place to relax while enjoying good wine, great company and wood fired pizza or cheese and charcuterie platters.
The Wine Pod is open from Monday to Friday 10.00 – 18.00hrs and Saturday and Sunday 9.00 – 17.00hrs.
