Located off the scenic R320 Hemel-en-Aarde Road near Caledon, in the Western Cape, Seven Springs Vineyard is a premium wine producing estate, crafting excellent South African wines.
Owned by Tim and Vaughan Pearson, husband and wife from the UK, this boutique winery focuses on the production of elegant, single varietal, terroir driven wines.
The influence of the ocean along with the shale derived soils, locally known as Bokkeveld shale, gives the vines exceptional qualities and allows slow ripening of the grapes.
At the same time, Seven Springs Vineyard works relatively green, using the minimum of pesticides and fertilizers, and keeps the wine making process as natural as possible.
The best quality grapes go into the production of their excellent wines, the first of which were produced in 2010, and which have since won multiple bronze, silver and double gold awards.
Seven Springs Wines
Located in the Overberg Wine Region which is one of the most biodiverse areas in the world, the many grapes that flourish here reflect that diversity.
The main types of grapes that grow at Seven Springs Vineyard are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc.
Sauvignon Blanc 2020 is fresh, clean and vibrant with floral notes of elderflower and white peach on the nose and palate.
Unoaked Chardonnay 2020 is a vivid and brilliant citrus lime colour and gives way to an apple and pear aroma, with a zesty clean, fresh, fruity finish.
Chardonnay 2019 is pale straw golden coloured with a hint of lime. Fresh and vibrant with a lingering dry finish.
Syrah Rose 2022 pomegranate pink with a hint of Turkish delight on the nose, watermelon and raspberry flavours with a lingering dry finish.
Pinot Noir 2017 is marked by aromas of red berry fruit with hints of dried herbs on the nose, complex rich and balanced.
Syrah 2019 is deep red, full bodied and well structured. Opulent dark blackberry fruit with a hint of violets and a pinch of white pepper on the finish.

Seven Springs wines are exported to select overseas countries and may be purchased on line. They are also available from selected shops in South Africa.
Seven Springs offer intimate wine tasting experiences and guided tours of their cellars where visitors can learn more about the various techniques of wine making. The winery and tasting room are situated at Sandfontein Farm while the vineyards are just one kilometre away.
