Richmond Hill Brewing Company (RHBC) has long been a shining star in Gqeberha’s culinary and brewing scene. Known for their award-winning brews and legendary Burger Shed, which serves some of the finest burgers in the city, RHBC consistently sets the bar high. Now, they’re expanding their menu with the addition of a state-of-the-art pizza oven, and the results are nothing short of spectacular.
About the pizzas
The newly introduced pizzas are a testament to RHBC’s dedication to quality. They currently offer two options of a Neapolitan style pizza: the classic Margarita and a savoury Salami pizza. Both are crafted with thin, freshly baked bases that provide the perfect foundation for their premium toppings. The Margarita features the sublime pairing of fior di latte and pecorino cheese, creating a rich, creamy flavour profile. The Salami pizza adds an extra layer of indulgence with its perfectly seasoned salami slices, complementing the high-quality cheese and crisp crust.
RHBC’s commitment to excellence extends to their pricing, ensuring these gourmet delights remain accessible. The Margarita is priced at R90, while the Salami pizza is available for R139.
Personal Experience
RHBC is one of my favourite breweries not just in Gqeberha but from anywhere in the world where I have travelled. I am a regular visitor and take great pleasure in tasting their seasonal and experimental brews. Niall Cook, the brewmaster knows his trade and it is no wonder that they have won so many awards.
My friends and I gathered for a farewell party at RHBC recently and we ordered pizzas. Judging from the host of positive comments and the guttural and throaty sounds of appreciation I wasn’t the only person to find them superb.
In a city known for its vibrant pizza offerings, RHBC’s latest venture confidently holds its own. With top-tier ingredients, masterful preparation, and a reputation for culinary excellence, their pizzas are a must-try for locals and visitors alike.
Stop by RHBC to enjoy a pizza (or two) alongside one of their exceptional brews—it’s a perfect pairing. The pizzas are also available for takeaway but beware, stocks are limited, and their popularity is high.
RHBC are in the process of training there staff to manage the pizza oven and are currently serving pizzas Monday to Friday from 5pm onwards. Keep an eye on social media for more updates.
