Nederburg Wines - Paarl - Winelands

A trip to Nederburg Wines where traditional meets contemporary

Nederburg Wines – Paarl

As you enter the gracious and welcoming gates to Nederburg Wines, you will find a breath-taking blend of the traditional and the contemporary, just like its wines.

With the imposing Drakenstein Mountains, as the backdrop, the winery commands magnificent views of Paarl and lets you imagine how it was in the beginning when founder, Philippus Wolvaart, arrived in 1791.

No visit to Nederburg is complete without a stop at the Visitor’s Centre where guests can sample a wide selection of Nederburg’s award-winning wines, including the everyday styled The Winemasters wines and speciality offerings such as the Manor House, Heritage Heroes, Ingenuity and Two Centuries collections. The centre also offers wines paired with a range of tasty local cheeses as well as snack platters.

The Red Table Restaurant

For a great dining experience make sure to stop by Nerderburg’s restaurant – The Red Table, situated in its iconic manor house. It has been passionately created in collaboration with well-known Cape Town foodie, Andrea Foulkes, and offers locally-sourced, fresh food in a comfortable and historic atmosphere.

The accent is on tasty, simple, but superb eating with flavours to match the award-winning range of Nederburg wines. Signature favourites include the venison burger, beef fillet, fish and chips, and pork belly.

Just a few steps away is the Old Cellar Museum, where you can discover a fascinating glimpse of the Nederburg story, from the early days of Nederburg’s founder Philippus Wolvaart to his successors, including winemaking legends like Johann Graue and Günter Brözel. Foreign language guides can be arranged by prior appointment.

Nederburg Wines is also available for those wanting to host functions and events, and for the business traveller, conferences and meetings can also be arranged.

Make sure you don’t leave Nederburg without a visit to the Qhubeka bicycle assembly facility, where bicycles are built for distribution to vulnerable South Africans via various Qhubeka-affiliated community programmes.
