Jane Doe Hard Cherry – A perfect base for a cocktail or punch

Richmond Hill Brewing Company (RHBC) are best known for their award winning beers.  However, their Jane Doe Hard Lemonade is well known, particularly to patrons of their tap room.

Following on the success of Jane Doe Hard Lemonade, RHBC also produced the sweet and punchy Jane Doe Hard Cherry.

Whereas the Hard Lemonade is zesty and sweet, the Hard Cherry is fruity and juicy.

Niall Cook, master brewer at RHBC says “The Hard Cherry is best served on ice with a choice of berries and mint.  However, she packs a punch so tread lightly! It’s not named Jane Doe for nothing.”

The alcohol content is a low 4 % ABV and is made from a neutral spirit and the cooler is dark red in colour as you would expect.

Mixing a flavor-balanced cocktail or punch

If you want to make a delicious cocktail or punch then the Hard Cherry is a great place to start.  I find that it mixes best with fruits that are zesty and tarty such as oranges, lemons, limes and apples.  Exotics like kiwi fruit and dragon fruit are also good compliments.

Because the alcohol in the Hard Cherry is neutral it allows the use of just about any spirit you have available to give your cocktail or punch a tasty kick.

If you find that the Hard Cherry is a little too sweet for your liking then I suggests that you add soda water or plenty of ice and a citrus based fruit juice. My personal favourite is freshly squeezed lime juice.

For aesthetics and a hint of freshness add some mint or a cinnamon stick.

Take a deep sluck let the party begin!
