Emerald Vale Brewery – A Great Pub and Restaurant in a Delightful Country Setting

Emerald Vale Brewery and Restaurant, forty-five kilometres from East London on the Wild Coast of South Africa, is situated on a farm between the Chintsa and Cefani Rivers.

The brewery produces excellent beer from the best natural ingredients in a simple yet precise process, using unpolluted rain water, malted barley, selected hops and yeast to yield a variety of tastes.

Their brews are famous in the Border region and include Pale, Gold, Amber, Dark Ales and Gold Pilsner.

Chris Heaton, the master brewer at Emerald Vale knows his business and I have been a fan of his brews almost since he started brewing in 2012.

One of the highlights of a business trip to East London is the opportunity quaff Emerald Vale’s brews.

Their beer, Pink G&T and Iced Tea may be purchased on line and are also   available in restaurants and bottle stores.

The Restaurant

The restaurant is a popular family spot and also offers beer tasting.  They are open for breakfast lunch and dinner and booking is essential.

The menu includes a variety of delicious meals including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options, with vegetables and herbs from their own garden.

For those who are particular about their chips, Emerald Vale chips are hand cut.
