The 125-heactre estate was established by Peter Finlayson in 1989. Finlayson is widely regarded as the pioneer of Pinot Noir wine-making in South Africa. Their philosophy is to combine a respect for long-established winemaking traditions with an eye for continual innovation – and it shows in their offerings.

In the hands of talented winemaker, Chris Albrecht, the estate’s Tête de Cuvée and Galpin Peak remain among the finest wines from the Cape.
The estate is also the home of award-winning Chardonnay – the Missionvale Chardonnay; the Crocodile’s Lair / “Kaaimansgat” Chardonnay; the Sans Barrique Chardonnay, as well as the Sauvignon Blanc.
You will fall in love with their innovative Franco-Italian red blend – the Hannibal, and a remarkable straw wine produced from cool-climate Riesling grapes – the Aurum Straw Wine.

To fully immerse yourself in their wines, the estate also offers two unique experiences. The first is a tutored tasting of five vintage Pinot Noirs from their cellar. It is a truly special experience that showcases the maturation potential of the wines.
The second is a collection of ‘Peter’s Picks’. Vintage gems, selected by Peter Finlayson, are plucked from the cellar, where they have been kept in the best possible conditions. The collection changes periodically and one can expect the best of the best from Bouchard Finlayson’s award-winning history.
